My sister's crackerjack

bring to a boil:
2 cups brown sugar
1 cup butter
1/2 cup corn syrup

remove from heat then add:
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp vanilla

Pour over 7 quarts of popped popcorn, and bake in 250 oven for 1 hour, stirring frequently.
