K's pretzels
dough:
1 bottle beer, dark (eg [region] Dark)
4 1/4 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp salt
4 1/8 c flour
1 1/8 tsp yeast
glaze:
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 Tbsp water
coarse salt or sesame seeds
Make into a dough. Roll into a 14" x 14" rectangle. With a sharp knife, cut into 27 strips a half inch wide. Gently pull into a role 16" long. Shape into pretzels and place on greased baking sheets. Do not let rise.
Combine egg and water and brush onto pretzels. Sprinkle with coarse salt or sesame seeds. Bake at 350 for 18-20 min or until done. Remove from sheets and cool on a wire rack.
