LEVELING THE GROUND

Purpose: To demonstrate to participants that in AVP workshops we are all equal and valuable and that no one is above the rest and that similarly, no one is below the rest

Time: 10 Minutes

Materials: Pen and Paper for every participant

Sequence:

•Ask participants to write down their names and titles as they are known in real life. The facilitator can demonstrate this by beginning with their own names and titles

•After everyone has done that, all the names and titles are removed and put in a box or an envelope marked titles

•The participants are then told that they have surrendered their names and titles and therefore have equal status as everybody else in the room.

•The box or envelope marked titles are then kept at a corner in the room. It is then pointed out to the participants that they will get their names and titles at the end of the workshop.
