What Is NLP?

What Is NLP?

NLP is the study of the structure of subjective experience. Which is to say what makes people tick.

Learning to use the mental processes that are ours. It is also about realizing one’s potential.

NLP is the modelling of excellence.

The ability to reach into the inner world of people’s lives and touch the heart of what makes them masters.

A psychological study, a system of personal development, and an unprecedented modelling discipline.

NLP is neither therapy, new science, nor simply personal development, but a discipline that touches all of these.

A meta–model capable of enfolding other ways of thinking, a system of personal development, and a way of mining the riches of human excellence.

Meets the need for many people to find a way to do better at their jobs and improve their lives through coaching.

Provides for an enhancement of skills.

Coaxes out and guides the potential already present within the person, helping the person define and realize his or her outcomes.

A sophisticated coaching model.

Provides an emphasis on outcome definition to focus on practical results.

A toolbox for modeling the nuts and bolts of greatness.

Places an emphasis on the internal structure of inner processes, and provides some precise tools for eliciting them, and a range of models to help substitute unhelpful patterns with more useful strategies for success in many areas of life.

Recognizes increased performance goes hand in hand with greater personal alignment. The inner coherence and congruency of the individual makes all the difference to performance.

Is heavily focused on facilitating change. Its methods have been most effective for influencing behavior and supporting the mastering of new capabilities.

NLP interventions are designed to work at almost any moment in a person’s life, without much consideration of where they are in the unfolding of their life story as a whole. The chief exception remains some adaptation in the way NLP is used with children.

However, the issues facing the coachee cannot always be easily translated into a linear, present–state, desired state, plus resource type of model. Growth operates in a more subterranean way, running through whole phases and transitions of a person’s life. Growth cannot be had on command; it invites us to receive it.

It’s the most sophisticated approach to coaching there is. Because it offers a powerful methodology for uncovering the structure of subjective experience, thereby helping us to model excellence in any field. And it uses the fruits of that modeling to draw on more of our inner resources, so that our Performance and our Alignment become and remain best friends, as we grow and develop.

Neuro-linguistic programming constitutes a methodology of personal and professional efficiency, not on the basis of theoretical concepts, but on the basis of the modeling of practices that lead to tangible results. The pnl deals with the habits of thought, action, feeling and communication associated with human excellence. The pnl focuses on the "how it works when it works" rather than on the explanation of why it does not work.

The aim is to integrate a positive and constructive vision of man, to acquire operational tools to develop skills related to interpersonal communication, learning and the change of individuals and organizations. The neuro-linguistic programming brings to those who practice the possibility of their own development and that of others.
