Yesterday’s article on "putting a number on it" has had a fantastic response. That's amazing news from several points of view.

For one thing, it means we are all thirsty for results and ways to show the value of performant, happy humans, which is great.

For another, we all collectively know in our hearts of heart that this is measurable in highly significant indicators and we don’t need to hide behind the “fluffy” ones or even avoid trying. A really encouraging place for all of us to be.

In today’s video, we invite you to think of measurements but also propose the thesis closest to my heart which is that, if we want business and the world of knowledge and technology to deeply comprehend the importance of Psychological Safety and therefore treat their people better, then we need an effective and fast measurement to show its immediate connection and Agile KPIs can provide that.

Think of it as a shortcut to results. Connecting people to P&L in large, old school, waterfall ruled organisations stuck in cultural paralysis and antiquated processes and ways of work, is of course still possible and certainly desirable, but it is so much bigger of a task than in Agile shops where the focus is on deliverables already and the direct link to Psychologically Safe teams is obvious and undeniable.

Are you for or against putting numbers on human factor topics? Is your organisation Agile and could we start showing the value of real teams fast if we used those same measurements in your opinion? If not what could we link it to? What about individual team OKRs? How do we show that the teams that are Psychologically Safe are X% more valuable to the business than their counterparts?

We really want to hear from you, what measurement do we need to make this truly “top of mind”?

P.S. For a chuckle and to model admitting mistakes - let us put our hands up and admit that in this video we say one thing and subtitle another - it's not the second but the third video indeed <blush>.
