The Fifth Season, N.K. Jemisin
Also N.K. Jemisin's other series, The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms - click on her name to see the description. (The description doesn't gush at you the way I would if we were in person, though, sadly!) --C

Since you added such a wide range of what you like -- esp literary and Murakami -- how do you feel about anthologies? Stories for Chip, edited by Nisi Shawl, is an amazing anthology by over a dozen talented writers. It's got both fiction and nonfiction, some super accessible and some super literary, all inspired by the work of legendary SF writer Samuel Delany. You might not love every story, but I think you're going to find several that hit your sweet spot. --C

Also, for a (frighteningly timely) dystopia, try Ink by Sabrina Vourvoulias. - C
