LiveCharts Account Migration Information
eSignal is very pleased to announce the impending migration of all Quote.com/QCharts/LiveCharts accounts into eSignal's premier Customer Management System. In production since 2000 and with millions invested, eSignal's Customer Management System is designed to effortlessly support the self-service needs of over 100,000 active subscribers. Once the migration is complete, you'll have access to your account 24/7 (excluding some maintenence periods) and be able to add/delete services, update your demographics, change credit cards, restart your service and even add new products.
All LiveCharts accounts will be migrated during October 2006. During this time, the legacy Lycos/Quote.com online account maintenance system will not be available. Once your account has been converted into the eSignal Customer Management system, you will receive a welcome email from eSignal. Once you get this email, you can begin to utilize the eSignal Account Maintenance site to make changes to your account. Until you get that email, you will need to contact Customer Service directly to make changes to your account.
There are a number of items you should take note of as a result of this transition.
1. Introduction of a billing cycle date. To help spread the load of service inquiries and to support pro-rated exchange fees, all accounts within the eSignal Customer Management System are assigned a billing cycle date. This could be any day from the 1st of the month to the 31st. On this assigned day, you are billed for a full month of service going forward. Quote/Lycos has previously billed customers on a calendar month so that will change once your account is migrated. Your new billing cycle date will be included in your welcome email and you'll be able to look it up in Account Maintenance as well. Here is an example to illustrate this change in billing cycle date.
Old System: Service was billed on August 31st 2006 for services provided in September 2006. You'd get billed again on September 30th for the month of October 2006. If you wanted to cancel, you'd need to notify us 1 business day prior to the last day of the month.
New System: Say you are assigned a billing cycle date of the 13th. On September 13th, you will be charged for one month of service, effectively Sept 14th 2006 until October 13th, 2006. On October 13th, you will get billed again for October 14th until November 13th and so on. If you want to cancel service, you'll need to cancel at least 1 business day prior to your billing cycle date (the 12th if it fell on a valid U.S. business day).
2. Pro-rated charges due to billing cycle change. In conjunction with the billing cycle change noted above, you can also expect to see a pro-rated charge on your credit card to reflect the change in your billable period. This is best explained with an example as well.
Example. You will be billed in the old Lycos/Quote system for the full month of September. Your account is then converted as of September 15th into the eSignal Customer Management System. On October 1st, you will be billed a pro-rated month from October 1st until October 15th (approximately half a month of charges - including pro-rated exchange fees). On October 15th, you will be billed a full month, effectively October 16th until Nov 15th. You'll then be billed for the next month of service on Nov 15th and so on.
As you can see in the above example, you are not being charged any extra fees but sometimes a pro-rated charge can cause confusion so we hope this illustration has been helpful.
3. New procedure for credit card declines - Important, please read. In the eSignal Customer Management System, monthly billing is fully automated. If our attempt to charge your credit card is unsuccessful, your account will be placed in a pending cancel state for a maximum of 2 days. You will receive an automated email notifying you that we were unable to charge your credit card. If you get this warning email, you'll need to access Account Maintenance and update your account with new credit card information. In the event your account is suspended, you can simply log-on to Account Maintenance and restart your service. Please make sure we have your correct email address reflected on your account.
4. New Terms and Conditions. While your existing subscriber agreement has been transferred to eSignal, we are requiring that all customers electronically agree to eSignal's current Terms and Conditions. Once you get the welcome email, you can log-on to eSignal's secure Click and Agree site and click through the new terms and conditions. By doing so, you will then be able to add or alter services on your account.
5. Ability to add real-time exchanges at anytime. Once your account is converted to the eSignal Customer Management System, you can add any real-time exchange and pay pro-rated charges on your initial month of service. No longer will you need to wait until the 1st of the month to add a new exchange; you'll be able to add at anytime and just pay on a pro-rated basis (typically based on a 30 day calendar month). Please keep in mind that you will need to agree to our new Terms and Conditions prior to adding any additional services.
6. First phase of migration to eSignal Network. With the next set of releases of LiveCharts, subscribers will be able to add content from over 100 exchanges worldwide. This includes Eurex, Forex and dozens of other European and Asia/Pac exchanges.
7. eSignal will now be source of credit card charges. With this transition and subsequent billing from eSignal, your credit card statement will reflect eSignal, rather than Quote.com.
8. Real-time data no longer available on Quote.com site. The authentication process for LiveCharts is being seperated from the authentication process of the Quote.com website. As a result, even if you currently subscribe to real-time exchanges via LiveCharts, you will no longer be able to get real-time data when visiting the Quote.com site. All data on Quote.com will be provided on a delayed basis only.
