How to perfect your pitch
Notes from Mark Suster's (@msuster) tips on perfecting your pitch:
- Consider it as a cocktail pitch
- Say what the industry you are in (coffee or IT)
- Define the problem (23 million Americans face acidity problems)
- Say the solution (we have come up with a manufacturing solution for this problem)
- Market size (if possible in $ terms)
- What traction have you got so far
- Show some energy and enthusiasm
- Don't use buzzwords. Hiding behind buzzwords says you don't know your market
- Give numbers (problem, market size, traction and in everything)
- Ask what you want (do you want recommendation, money, or do you want to come back and meet me later)
- Be prepared for a deep dive discussion
