Maersk CEO Soren Skou on how to survive a cyber attack (reader responses)

The article doesn't tell anything of value. It's a shortcoming regarding the standard of the FT. This CEO doesn't say anything despite that he took part in confcalls. Wow.

As an outsider it would be interesting to learn, why so many un-patched and old systems [i.e. = "technical debt"] were operated, how it could have been possible that so many systems have been affected (worldwide)? Why wasn't the outbreak not contained in the systems run in the Ukraine? Which measures were taken and did they work? Learnings? Any?

Out of my perspective one could read this article as paid content targeting uninformed readers to increase the affected reputation of Maersk. I really don't get, why the FT published this piece.

In a way it's a good thing to be able to put a $ value on the cost to society of shipping buggy software and of the NSA hoarding vulnerabilities, and of companies not keeping their servers and workstation up to date. Security has a cost, lack of security an ever bigger price [i.e. = "security consciousness"]
