Stages of a Magic Trick

The pledge--a magician shows the audience, say, a bird in a cage.
The turn--he lets the bird disappear; the audience applauds.
The prestige--the magician lets the bird reappear; the audience is amazed and the trick is complete.

The prestige is the best part of a trick.
