The Differences Between Isolate, Full Spectrum, and Broad Spectrum: Cannabinoids Explained.
Hey there, thought I’d share a few opinions based off of personal experience and try to explain in a way that makes sense.
CBD Isolate - only Cannabidiol. In English, it means it’s the purest form of CBD, ironically, you’d think that this is the best you can get, but in reality, you’re only reaping the benefits of a single, “pure” concentrated cannabinoid. This is an okay choice if you’re looking to just “test the waters” so to speak - which is totally reasonable in regard to exploring unknown waters.
BUT.. there are 113 known cannabinoids, why pay to benefit from just 1? The general population doesn’t know this, and that’s totally okay. This movement is a lot to take in.
In my personal opinion, CBD isolate is not really worth the price or the time if you’re looking to relieve moderately to severe symptoms of inflammation. IF you’re concerned about failing an urinalysis, CBD isolate is a safe bet for you.
Full Spectrum - This terms refers to when a product contains a range of cannabinoids, not only CBD, but CBG, CBN, CBC, terpenes, and healthy and fatty acids. After doing research and testing a variety of regimens for a year, I’ve found that it’s better to reap the benefits from the bounty of the hemp plant (an array of cannabinoids) versus just focusing on 1 cannabinoid, CBD isolate.
Unlike CBD isolate that has 0 THC in it, Full Spectrum products has less than .o3% THC, which is the legal “industrial hemp”, politically defined correct amount.
You’re probably thinking, “Ok wtf are you talking about..”
Our body has an Endocannabinoid system that has Cannabinoid receptors in our mammalian brain and throughout the central and peripheral nervous systems. These Cannabinoids are essential for our bodies ability to function properly.
There are CBD suppliers who offer only CBD Isolate products (single cannabinoid x minimal benefits x affordable “but is it worth it”price points). On the other hand, there are CBD suppliers who provide Full Spectrum products (a variety of beneficial cannabinoids x entourage effect x shown incredible results for moderate to severe inflammation x a little more pricey of a product “but I think it’s extremely worth a try”)
Red flags (Safety Concerns) to be aware of about CBD Isolate and Full Spectrum: ⚠️ When trying CBD isolate, ensure the company provides a recent COA on your product. Ensure the product is manufactured in the U.S and isn’t made with Chinese synthetic CBD. Always Google and verify all CBD brands that you’re interested in. Check out product reviews if they’re listed.
When trying Full Spectrum, it’s dancing with the devil (I think) if you’re at risk for failing an urinalysis. Sometimes, Full Spectrum products can be “hot” meaning that said product won’t exactly test at the legal limit, resulting in a failed drug test. Not every company discloses a COA on their product. It’s important to verify businesses when you’re trusting them with crafting a product that you ingest in your body.
Often, the brands that seem like they have the best products, due to money bags investing in incredible marketing talent, have poor quality products (10mg gummy having less than 2mg),
Broad Spectrum - Hemp products created with THC Free Distillate. It’s like Full Spectrum, EXCEPT it is THC FREE. What does that mean? You can reap the benefits from all the cannabinoids (except psychoactive THC). Also means, more expensive CBD product out of the 3 mentioned above, because of its lengthy extraction method.
Hope this helps someone out today. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to provide my support :)
