Think long and hard about which keywords you want to associate with your ads. Decide on ones that will be the most effective and appear most often.

Write snappy, creative copy that will hook readers and persuade them to click on your ad.

Deliver on the promise of your ad. Bring visitors to a specific page within your website that’s designed to fulfill that promise–don’t just dump everyone at your homepage and force them to hunt for the product, service or information they want. This leads companies to believe they’re not getting value for their clicks, when they’re actually driving away potential customers with poor execution.

Don’t go overboard right away. Set a manageable budget and price per click. Start out slowly to see how effective your campaign is; you can always ramp up later.

Monitor the results of your pay-per-click campaigns using PPC analytical tools. These let you see how many times your ads show up and how many clicks they generate. You can even track which pages on your website each PPC customer visits, and whether they make a purchase or request more information.
