Region Format in iOS

There are several applications on the iPhone that decide how to present information according to the selected region format.

This is a global setting accessed through Settings > General > International > Region Format.

The information affected includes dates, times, distances but also which localized Google website Safari uses for its searches. For example, choosing the United States region format sends you to google.com while choosing United Kingdom sends you to google.co.uk.

I want the following settings for the region format:

  • For dates in long form I want "Wednesday 27 February 2013".
  • For dates in short form I can accept either one of "2013-02-27" and "27-02-2013" but definitely not "02-27-2013".
  • For times I strongly prefer "19:00" to "7PM".
  • For all units I want to use the metric system, for example, km instead of miles.
  • For temperatures I want Celsius instead of Fahrenheit.
  • Searches should send me to google.com, not google.co.uk, google.cn, or google.tld-for-current-locale.
  • I want everything to appear in English.

The problem is that there appears to be no English speaking country where all of the above apply. So pretty please Apple, with sugar on top; can you introduce the possibility to have custom region formats in iOS just as for OS X?
